Application Deadline
The deadline to submit a student’s Visiting Student Application and International Student Data Form, with supporting documentation, is May 1, 2012 for fall semester (2012) or full year and September 1, 2012 for spring semester (2013). This is necessary in order to allow sufficient time to process student visas.
TOEFL
Please note that we have a minimum TOEFL requirement of 600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based) or 100 (internet-based) for visiting exchange students. In the event that a nominated student is not able to arrange to take the TOEFL test, the student should advise us of this as soon as possible, so we can instead arrange for telephone interviews to assess their English skills.
Financial Letter of Support
As noted in the application forms, for visa purposes we need documentation showing sufficient funding to support you during your studies at BU Law. If you are supporting yourself, please submit a current financial statement or bank letter from your bank indicating that your account holds the necessary funds. If you are being financially supported by an individual other than yourself, we need a current financial statement or bank letter from your sponsor's bank showing the availability of funds to cover your personal and academic expenses at BU, plus a Sponsor Certification Form which states that he/she will pay for your fees and living expenses for the duration of your studies at Boston University School of Law. Estimated expenses are as follows for the 2012-2013 academic year:
Full academic year: $20,580
Fall 2012 semester: $10,100
Spring 2013 semester: $10,612
Please note that all documents must be originals and written in English.
