Study Abroad/Foreign Exchange
As the practice of law becomes a truly global profession, BU Law has emerged as a national leader in developing semester-abroad programs. We offer one of the widest selections of overseas study opportunities, in which students are fully immersed in their host country’s legal system and culture, living and working with international teachers, scholars and fellow students. Nearly half of our partner universities are ranked among the top 50 universities in the world, according to the Times Higher Education rankings.
Participating students gain exposure to a range of substantive international and comparative law topics and develop valuable perspectives on their own legal educations and the U.S. legal system. Many make meaningful personal and professional overseas connections and find opportunities to leverage their international experience in their job searches.
These programs are open only to BU Law students who have completed at least one year of full-time study at BU Law. Students from other ABA-approved law schools are not eligible to participate.
