Margaret (Peggy) Brown is an experienced M&A lawyer retired from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where she served as head of the firm’s Boston office and head of its Mergers & Acquisitions practice.

During her more than thirty years at Skadden, Peggy advised companies and their boards in connection with a wide range of business transactions, including negotiated and hostile acquisitions, spin-offs, public and private financings, proxy fights, restructurings and recapitalizations. Some of her notable representations include representing EMC Corporation in its acquisition by Dell Inc., OfficeMax Incorporated in its merger of equals transaction with Office Depot, Inc. and Arthur T. Demoulas in the acquisition by Mr. Demoulas and other family members of all of the shares of the Market Basket grocery chain.

Peggy has received numerous awards and recognitions during her career, and has consistently been named to numerous “best lawyer” lists. She has also been named a Dealmaker of the Year by The American Lawyer. She is a Trustee of Tufts Medical Center and Chair of its Board of Governors and also a member of the Boston Bar Association’s governing council and executive committee. In 2017, Peggy was selected by Harvard Law School as one of its “Women Inspiring Change” as part of its International Women’s Day celebration.
