The TTAB Comes to Boston
- Starts: 12:30 pm on Friday, April 9, 2010
- Ends: 5:30 pm on Friday, April 9, 2010
BU School of Law and the Boston Patent Law Association will co-host a mini-conference on trademark law, culminating with a real-life hearing in a trademark registration proceeding. The afternoon will begin with two presentations on recent trademark developments, followed by a hearing before a three-judge panel of the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board in Factory Five Racing, Inc. v. Carroll Shelby and Carroll Hall Shelby Trust (Opposition No. 91150346). The case involves an opposition to Shelby's attempt to register the shape of its classic car as a trademark. The briefs of the parties are available for viewing through TTABVUE, the TTAB's electronic database, accessible at http://ttabvue.uspto.gov/ttabvue/. After the hearing, a panel of trademark experts will discuss the case. The afternoon will close with a reception. To pre-register, send an email to Susan Morrison at firstname.lastname@example.org. Due to space constraints, the event is on a first-come, first-served basis.
