Transactional Law Series: Emerging Companies and Venture Capital, Sponsored by WilmerHale
- Starts: 12:45 pm on Thursday, February 20, 2020
- Ends: 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 20, 2020
1Ls are invited to join the CDO and WilmerHale for a discussion of Venture Capital Financing, which is the fourth in the six-part Transactional Law Series. A venture capital transaction involves the flow of capital that is typically provided for in early-stage, high-potential, growth companies in the interest of growing the company in order to generate a return (through an event such as an IPO or the sale of a company). Venture capital investments are generally made as cash in exchange for shares in the invested company. This session will review the components of a typical transaction and introduce the key principles, players and documents. You’ll also hear about the role of a junior associate in a VC financing deal. Lunch will be served; RSVP via the Events tab in Symplicity.
