Are you interested in practicing in Asia, the UK, or in Intellectual Property Law? Sign up for lunch and/or individual advising with Michael Lin (’96). Michael manages the Life Sciences group in Marks & Clerk’s Hong Kong and Beijing offices. He focuses on drafting, prosecution, and opinion work for companies ranging from the pharmaceutical, chemical, bioscience, materials science, and mechanical fields. Michael graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and worked in a biotech laboratory in Silicon Valley before attending BU Law. After graduating, Michael worked as a Patent Attorney at a large multinational FMCG Company, where he specialized in pan-Asian patent matters in the chemical and mechanical fields. During this time he handled holistic IP strategy development and implementation, drafting, prosecution, opinion work, due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures, contracts, negotiations, and licensing matters on a regional and worldwide basis. Joining Michael for lunch will be Gareth Williams, from Marks & Clerk’s Cambridge, UK office. Gareth specializes in biotechnology-related patent work, with particular expertise in genomics and peptides and will be available at lunch to discuss practice in the UK and IP more generally.
