Joe Hicks retired in 2011 after five years as a partner in the Boston Office of Greenberg Traurig.  Previously, he practiced for 27 years with Bingham McCutchen and in the mid-1980s served as the partner in charge of its London Office.

Mr. Hicks practiced corporate and securities law.  He represented publicly traded and privately held companies in a wide range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, public securities offerings and venture capital financings.  In addition, he represented banks in commercial lending transactions, investment advisors and mutual funds.

For many years, Mr. Hicks directed Bingham’s training program for associate lawyers in the corporate area.  Before attending law school, Mr. Hicks taught philosophy in college, at Mt. Holyoke College and Southern Methodist University.
