Charles K. WhiteheadAssociate Professor of Law Interests: securities regulation; corporate governance; business transactions; and Japanese law Charles Whitehead is currently the Marc and Beth Goldberg Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law at Cornell Law School, visiting for the Fall 2008 semester. After working on corporate, capital markets, and mergers and acquisitions transactions in the New York, London, and Tokyo offices of a major New York law firm, Professor Whitehead served as a managing director and general counsel for the North and South American businesses of a global securities firm. Professor Whitehead also held various senior legal and business positions with a global financial services firm before joining Columbia Law School as a Research Fellow and director of Transactional Studies. He joined the Boston University faculty in 2006, where he teaches courses in corporations, securities regulation, and transactions. Professor Whitehead was a law clerk to the Honorable Ellsworth A. Van Graafeiland, U.S. Court of Appeals (2nd Circuit). He also served as an editor of the Columbia Law School Journal of Law annd Social Problems, as well as editor and translator of the Journal of Law in Japan. Professor Whitehead is a member of the American Law Institute. |
