Prior to joining The Educational Resources Institute, Ms. Bizar was General Counsel and Secretary of The Reserve Funds in New York City. She had also been Vice President and Senior Counsel of Banking and Regulatory Affairs at GE Consumer Finance, where she was responsible for the legal activities of GE Capital’s three U.S. banks and served as primary counsel for the consumer credit card and mortgage lending areas. She also was General Counsel of GE Financial Network, GE Capital’s consumer financial services electronic commerce initiative.

Before joining GE, Ms. Bizar was Group Senior Counsel of Fleet Financial Group, where she was in charge of consumer and small business lending legal activities, including national real estate lending, deposits, credit cards, consumer loans, and electronic banking initiatives. Previously she was Assistant General Counsel at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and Senior Counsel at the Bank of New England Corporation. Ms. Bizar is a former chair of the American Bar Association Consumer Financial Services Committee and a member of the Board of Regents of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers. She teaches Consumer Financial Services.
