Long-time Washington, D.C. public defender Peter Krauthamer (’82) was sworn in as the newest District of Columbia Superior Court Judge on April 20, 2012.

After graduating from BU Law, Krauthamer joined the D.C. In 1995, he joined the faculty of Howard University School of Law. Krauthamer served as deputy director for the District of Columbia Pretrial Services Agency until 2004 when he rejoined PDS as its Deputy Director until his judicial appointment.

“We have added to the bench someone with such talent and such humanity and who cares so much that he will never ever let us down,” commented Judge Robert Wilkins of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Krauthamer was nominated to the Superior Court in July and confirmed by the Senate in November.
