garoThe Defense Rests its Case: Victor Garo ('65) Victorious in Landmark Civil Suit

For over 30 years, Victor Garo ('65) provided pro bono legal aid to his client, Joseph Salvati, for a crime he didn't commit. In July 2007, Garo helped win Salvati and three others the largest award given in a wrongful imprisonment case in U.S. history: $107.1 million.

This week, the federal government decided not to appeal the landmark verdict for the four men --who spent a combined 109 years in prison-- framed by the FBI in a gangland slaying.
