Parking & Public Transportation
Traffic along Commonwealth Avenue can become heavily congested, and long delays should be expected. Parking spaces in West Campus can be difficult to find on Sunday in the late morning. You are strongly encouraged to arrive early, park your vehicle close to your last venue of the day and move about campus by foot, MBTA or shuttle.
For those who must drive to campus, most parking lots and garages will be open and available free of charge throughout the weekend. Beginning in April, a Commencement parking list with suggested parking lots for the weekend convocations and events will be available.
General commencement parking will not be allowed in the Babcock Street Garage (278 Babcock Street) on Sunday, May 18. After 9:30am, Babcock street will not be accessible to general traffic.
All lots throughout BU have accessible parking for those with disabilities.
Disability parking spaces in the Agganis Arena garage are available on a first-come, first-served basis and require disability plates or placards. A BU permit is not required.
A BU permit is required for disability parking for the All-University Commencement ceremony. Parking requests can be made via the Disability Accommodations Request Form. Please note that this parking is reserved for guests that require wheelchair accessibility to Nickerson Field. Guests with other mobility issues should contact parking services for additional information.
For additional details, please visit the MBTA 's website.
BU Shuttle Service
Free shuttle service between Kenmore Square and the Track & Tennis Center will operate during the weekend. This Commencement Weekend shuttle will offer the most convenient method of transportation around campus.
