The field work component of the Legal Externship program is completed through a public interest, public sector, judicial or government placement.  Students must work a total of 200 hours over the course of the semester (approximately 16 hours per week). Students are supervised in their legal work by an experienced attorney mentor and receive three pass/fail credits for their work.

Upon acceptance into the program, you will apply to placements in consultation with the instructor before the semester in which you participate.

The weekly seminar is required of all Legal Externship participants.  The seminar is closely integrated with the Program’s field work component and satisfies the School of Law’s Professional Responsibility requirement.  Students register for three graded credits.
