Jerry Tichner (’98) co-chairs successful Greater Boston Legal Service charity drive

Jerry Tichner (’98) of Boston’s McDermott Will & Emery LLP, served as co-chair for Greater Boston Legal Service’s 2007 GBLS Associates Drive, which raised an excess of $220,000. The funds he helped raise from law firms throughout Boston will aid the GBLS Family Law Unit.

The GBLS Family Law Unit provides pro bono civil legal services to low-income families in Boston and an additional 31 cities and towns. Their services range from legal advice to full case representation and extend to families whose yearly income does not exceed 125 percent of Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. According to the GBLS Web site, in 2006 alone the organization “provided critical legal assistance to more than 15,600 low-income people.”

As an associate at McDermott Will & Emery LLP, Tichner is a member of the Health Law Department. He represents hospitals as well as health systems through his general health law practice. In the past, he has represented pharmaceutical companies, medical device companies and equipment manufacturers.

Tichner is a member of both the Boston Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.
