New Online Offering of BU Law's Graduate Tax Program

BU Law is pleased to announce that, beginning in Fall 2012, we will offer our LL.M. in Taxation online. This innovative online option provides the same challenging course of study as our residential program options, delivered in an award-winning online format. The online option is ideal for domestic and internationally training tax lawyers whose jobs preclude them from attending our traditional on-site program in Boston.

The online program option will allow students to complete the 24-credit course requirements in as few as four sessions of part-time study, or over the course of four years. Students can begin the program in any of the three online sessions—fall, spring or summer—and enroll in an attractive variety of tax courses, all taught by the same faculty who teach our residential courses.

“This is an exciting initiative that will allow both domestic and internationally trained lawyers to advance their careers while maintaining their practices, either in the U.S. or abroad,” said John Riccardi, assistant dean for Graduate and International Programs. “The online program option offers the same rigorous training as our residential program, with courses taught by the same highly experienced instructors who teach in Boston.”

BU Law’s Graduate Tax Program, established in 1959 as one of the first graduate tax programs in the nation, continues to be one of the best: BU Law ranks 5th among American law schools that offer an LL.M. degree in Taxation, according to U.S. News and World Report.

For over 50 years, the mission of BU Law’s Graduate Tax Program has been clear – to give students the nation’s most rigorous training in the complexities of tax law and equip them with the professional expertise and skills that advance their careers, whether in the private or public sector, in the U.S. or abroad. Graduates of the program – over 3,000 strong—consistently tell us that their BU LL.M. degree has been an essential ingredient to their professional success.

BU Law is currently accepting applications for the Graduate Tax Program’s full-time, part-time and online program options. Candidates interested in the online option are strongly encouraged to submit their applications by July 31, 2012 for enrollment in the Fall 2012.
