Jane Michaels (’73) Named Among Top 500 Attorneys in America
BU Law alumna Jane Michaels was recently named one of Lawdragon Magazine's "500 Leading Lawyers in America." Lawdragon chooses lawyers through online balloting and independent research, including interviews with thousands of lawyers. More than 15,000 attorneys were nominated.
Michaels is a partner at Rocky Mountain-based firm Holland & Hart, specializing in intellectual property and commercial litigation. She has tried and won numerous business disputes including trademark, trade secrets, patent, copyright and technology cases. A trial lawyer for 25 years, she has represented a number of companies, including AT&T Corp, Hitachi America Ltd. and Radio Shack. She also represented a major software developer in a suit against a competitor for misappropriation of trade secrets. The verdict was one of the largest in U.S history in a computer software piracy case.
“Jane Michaels is not just a superlative trial lawyer, respected by the judges and lawyers inside and outside the firm,” said Paul Phillips, Chairman of Holland & Hart’s Management Committee. “She is one of the intellectual and moral leaders of Holland & Hart, whose commitment to excellence in the practice of law, impeccable judgment, and devotion to important pro-bono causes are unsurpassed.”
Michaels has also been listed in Best Lawyers in America every year for the past 15 years, and received Chambers USA’s #1 ranking in Colorado for Intellectual Property Litigation.
