Charles Babcock ('76) & Alan Daughtry (’95) Named Two of Dallas' Best Lawyers

Dallas’ H Texas Magazine recently named BU Law alumni Charles “Chip” Babcock ('76) and Alan Daughtry (’95) as two of the “Best Lawyers in Dallas."

Babcock served as executive editor of the law review during his time at Boston University and later became one of the most prestigious lawyers in the country, representing clients like Oprah Winfrey. For over 10 years, he has been listed in the book Best Lawyers in America under both the Business Litigation and First Amendment Law categories.

Daughtry was editor of the Annual Review of Banking Law at BU Law, and has been named a "Texas Rising Star" by Texas Monthly magazine for the past three years. Both Babcock and Daughtry are partners at Jackson Walker, and they also serve positions on several judicial committees. Babcock has served as chair of the Texas Supreme Court Advisory Committee for the past seven years, and Daughtry was appointed a member of the Council for the Houston Bar Association Appellate Section in 2005.

For the two lawyers’ most recent acknowledgement in H Texas, the magazine’s intense selection process polled 2,500 lawyers throughout the area, using a weighted system that favored out-of-firm nominations to deemphasize bias.
