Home/Off Campus Access

Boston University offers free dial-up internet access to students, faculty and staff. You must have an ACS account with a BU login name and a Kerberos password to access it.

Remote Access to Research

Some web sites have licensed content which is not free to the public. The Law Library has subscribed to many legal resources to provide access to Law School students, faculty and staff. In addition, Boston University has licensing agreements from many other resources open to the entire campus and the Law School community. These resources can be tapped into from the library's website and can be accessed from computers located in the law school building without the need for a password since access is solely based on the address of the computer, either on campus or in the law school building.

When off-campus, current BU Law faculty, students, and staff can still connect to most licensed electronic indexes and databases using the Law Proxy Server. The proxy server allows off campus computers to appear as if they were on campus when accessing these specific licensed resources. In this case, authentication is through BU's login name and Kerberos password.
