Pro Bono Program
Welcome to the Boston University School of Law Voluntary Pro Bono Program. Through this program, students dedicate their developing legal skills to unmet legal needs in the Boston area, throughout the United States and around the world.
The Pro Bono Program is administered through the Career Development Office, whose staff advises students about the range of legal pro bono opportunities and assists in identifying possible placements.

Upcoming BU Law Pro Bono Events!
This year the Pro Bono Program will be honoring two BU Alumni, Middlesex Superior Court Judge, Julian Houston (LAW ’71), and Executive Director for Brown Rudnick’s Center for The Public Interest, Al Wallis (LAW ’73) at the BU Law Pro Bono Kick-off on Tuesday, October 2, 2007, from 4:30-6pm in Barristers Hall.
Both Houston and Wallis will be presented with the 2007 Public Service Award for their commitment to public service. They will also share their experiences and give perspective on how law students can incorporate pro bono work while in law school and as future attorneys.

An Interview with The Honorable Julian Houston
BU Law Pro Bono Panel, Tuesday, October 16th, 4:30-6pm in Barristers Hall
The pro bono panel is an exciting opportunity for students to learn about various pro bono opportunities in large law firms around the northeast. Pro Bono coordinators, managers, and directors from various northeast firms will talk about their involvement with public service and how students can infuse pro bono work into their legal careers. Professor Kevin Outterson will serve as the moderator.
