Fall 2009 ExamSoft Registration: October 14th to November 20th
We offer GTP students who have a PC-compatible laptop that meets certain minimum specifications the option to take their in-class final exams on their laptop computers. Students who elect this option use software called SofTest from the company ExamSoft Worldwide. The software blocks access to all applications and stored files during the exam administration, and blocks access to the Internet and instant messenger. Over 135 law schools in the U.S. and Canada and over 30 state bars are using SofTest with excellent results.
To register, visit the BU Law custom homepage on the ExamSoft website. Sign-up, download, installation and registration with ExamSoft may take approximately 30 minutes, depending on your Internet connection. Any student who has not registered the latest version of SofTest by November 20, 2009 will have to hand-write their Fall 2009 exams.
If you have any difficulty registering or taking the ExamSoft mock exam, please contact the Computer Systems Department on the 17th floor of the law tower: phone 617.358.5555 or email lawhd@bu.edu. If you were unable to attend the ExamSoft information session, you can view the powerpoint presentation prepared by the IT department below.
Please note that any student who signs up to use ExamSoft and later decides to take one or more exams with standard bluebooks, must notify Anne Benson abenson@bu.edu by Friday, December 4, 2009. Please indicate for which exam(s) you no longer wish to use ExamSoft.
