How to Get Involved in the BU Law Pro Bono Program
The Logistics:
Students can get involved in the BU Law Pro Bono Program by signing the Pro Bono Pledge to perform a minimum of 35 hours of Pro Bono work during their three years of law school. Once students have signed the Pledge, they will recieve periodic updates about Pro Bono Opportunities. Students can also elect to recieve emails by sending a request to recieve pro bono emails to probono@bu.edu
Once you have completed your pro bono hours, submit the Pro Bono Tracking Form to probono@bu.edu so we can keep track of your hours. All students who fulfill the pledge will receive a notation on their transcript and the 3L with the highest number of pro bono hours completed will recieve an award at the Year End Pro Bono Celebration.

There are a variety of ways in which BU Law students can get involved with pro bono work.
Opportunities:
BU Law has developed relationships with a number of organizations who post current pro bono opportunities on our website. BU Law will also email these opportunities to students who have signed the Pro Bono pledge. For a list of current opportunities, click here.
Pro Bono Partners:
BU Law has formed partnerships with a large number of nonprofit organizations in the Boston area. These partner organizations are listed here. Students can contact these organizations directly to inquire whether there are any current pro bono opportunities.
Create Your Own:
BU Law students can also create their own partnership with an organization of their choice. CDO Advisers are happy to help students identify organizations of interest and help set up partnerships. Click here to learn more.
