Litigation and Dispute Resolution
BU Law offers a wide variety of opportunities to gain the practical legal experience that clarifies and enhances the theory and "black-letter law" of the classroom. Central to these offerings are our clinical programs, which enable students to represent real clients in real cases. This responsibility is balanced by the support of our full-time clinical faculty, who provide continuous supervision, guidance and feedback. Clinical opportunities at BU Law include the Civil Litigation Program, Criminal Trial Advocacy Program, Legal Externship Program , Legislative Counsel Clinic, Legislative Internship Program and Legislative Drafting Program. Additionally, the concentration provides the opportunity to study the growing art of alternative dispute resolution.
Beyond the concentration, the BU Law offers the aspiring litigator many opportunities to learn practical skills and gain professional experience. These include: the Trial Advocacy Program; Negotiation and Client Counseling Competitions; Moot Court Competitions; Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys student branch; Criminal Justice Society; and the Public Interest Project.
