Requirements

The Legal Externship Program is a one semester clinical program offered in the fall and spring semesters to both second- and third-year students. There are up to 16 slots available for both the fall and the spring semesters.

Credits

Students receive six credits for participation in the program -- three credits are graded for the seminar in legal ethics, and three credits are pass/fail for the fieldwork. For specific course information, click here.

Application

To be considered for the program, students must complete the application for the clinical programs. Students are selected at random with third-year students receiving priority.

Acceptance and Placement

Upon acceptance into the program, you will work with Lois to find a placement before the semester in which you participate. The program includes the weekly legal ethics seminar and work at a public interest, public sector, judicial or government placement.
