Located in the heart of London -- one of the world's most vibrant cities -- University College London (UCL) is ranked the 4th best university in the world, according to the Times Higher Education Rankings. Its law faculty boasts a superior academic reputation as a research institution committed to the development of law and its influence on legal practice and public policy. BU Law students studying at UCL participate in a unique program run by UCL's Faculty of Laws, called the “Semester in London” (SIL) Program. This highly selective program integrates BU Law students in classes with UCL LL.M. students from approximately 50 countries around the world. Students select classes from the 90+ LL.M. classes offered at UCL, including an impressive range of international and comparative law topics. The UCL faculty provide some of the finest teaching in the UK, with instruction by scholars and practitioners, including distinguished judicial and other visiting academic staff.

The SIL program takes place during the fall semester, with classes beginning in early October. To earn 12 BU Law credits, students are required to take at least five (and no more than six) courses. Up to four students may be selected to participate. Fall Semester Only.
