Student Affairs Office
The Student Affairs Office ensures that students have the dynamic, academically challenging and supportive environment needed for law school success. The Office is the center of many advising and support activities, providing academic information, counseling resources and personal guidance to BU Law students.
Services include:
- First-year orientation
- Student Welcomer and Advisor programs
- J.D. academic advising, including dual-degree programs
- Counseling resources and referrals
- Liaison with B.U. Office of Disability Services for services for disabled students
- Support for student organizations
- Student practice rule certifications (e.g., Mass. Rule 3:03)
- Letters of good standing
- Communication of BU Law news and events

- Calendar of Important Spring Dates
The Office also oversees the administration of many of BU Law's policies and procedures, including degree requirements and academic standards; works closely with student organizations; coordinates extracurricular activities such as faculty brown bag lunches and workshops on topics like stress-management, achieving work/family balance, and the "Live Well, Learn Well" exercise and nutrition initiative; and fosters interaction between students and faculty.
