Help Desk
The computer lab in Room 320 has an on-duty Help Desk staff. The staff is there to tackle PC and printer hardware and software questions, and can also troubleshoot wireless and logging-in problems.

Joseph Green, Analyst / Consultant II
After graduating High School in 1987, Joe worked for 10 years as a Switchgear Mechanic, building switchgear for emergency generator systems. After leaving that company he followed his love for music. He was a singer for a band and worked as a stage hand setting up for concerts at Great Woods of Performing Arts, tinkering with computers all the while. He learned PC hardware, DOS and Windows 3.1. In 2001, he decided to go back to school. Then in 2003 he graduated from ITT Technological Institute in Norwood with oustanding academic credentials. Joe received an Associates of Applied Science degree in Computer Networking Systems and became a member of Alpha Beta Kappa Honors society. He has worked with computers for approximately 10 years. In his spare time Joe enjoys building gaming computers and helping others with computer related problems. His last job was as Systems Administrator for Verdasys, Inc.
Michael Micale, Academic Technology Specialist II
Mike holds an MBA degree from Boston University, concentrating on International Management, and degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst Isenberg School of Management. While working in the accounting field, Mike discovered that many tasks can be improved through automation and became interested in the field of computer technology.
Prior to his current appointment, Mike worked in funds management for a variety of corporations including Bank of America and Fidelity. After switching into IT, he worked as an Email Administrator for FleetBoston and Sovereign Bank where he contributed to a worldwide email upgrade from Lotus cc:Mail to Microsoft Exchange.
Mike is also an accomplished technical trainer and curriculum developer at the Millennium Training Institute. He holds a vendor certification from Microsoft as an MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer). He also holds various IT industry certifications from the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) including: Security+, A+, Network+ and i-Net+.
In his spare time, Mike enjoys travelling and attending events that involve foreign cultures. He also likes reading, learning foreign languages, playing and watching sports of all kinds, and computer games.
Carl Orlando, Analyst / Consultant I
Carl holds a Network+ certification and completed courses in, A+, Network+, Linux+, MCDST, Security+, MCSA, MCSE from American International College in Cambridge. Currently finished Graphic Arts course and working on Web Development (Dreamweaver & Flash, CS4, CS5), 3D animation and Game design through the American Career Institute which will conclude in the fall of 2012.
Carl has worked in the IT industry since 1998 starting as a field technician to excelling his career further in the technology era with in the current times and changes over the years.
Prior to his employment with Boston University he was working for G&B Solutions working for Lockheed Martin, supporting users with in the Army Corps of Engineers. Served on Active duty for the Massachusetts army National Guard completing 3 tours in the Middle East, 2 of them in Iraq. During his last deployment, his primary duty was working for Strategic Counterintelligence Directorate for Centcom, providing personal security for OSI, NCIS agents, analysts and linguists. He was also in charge of being the help desk rep for the unit while deployed as his secondary job. Taking care of all the computer hardware and software issues on the military network at camp bucca, Basra, Iraq.
In his spare time he enjoys eating out, cooking , traveling to resort/spas, exercising, watching sports, reading biographies and military history and computer gaming.
Michael Waecker, Audio / Visual Support Specialist
Michael Waecker has his BS in Electrical Engineering from Boston University’s College of Engineering, and is currently enrolled in the MBA program at BU’s School of Management. Mike has had a deep interest in the audio/visual world since his childhood, and plans to continue pursuing this by obtaining his CTS from InfoComm, as well as his CCP from Crestron. For now, he is applying his knowledge of the A/V world by managing the Audio/Visual department at Boston University’s School of Law, and is utilizing any new information from his training there, as well.
