Remote Access to Resources
Some web sites have licensed content which is not free to the public. The Law Library, in particular, has subscribed to many legal resources for use by Law School students, faculty and staff. Boston University also has licensing agreements for many other resources open to the entire campus and the Law School community.
When off-campus, current BU Law faculty, students, and staff can connect to most licensed electronic indexes and databases using the Law Proxy Server. The proxy server allows off campus computers to appear as if they were on campus when accessing these specific licensed resources. In this case, authentication is through BU's login name and Kerberos password.
Another option for connecting to BU Resources is the BU VPN as described below
Home/Off Campus Access to BU Resources
Boston University offers remote access to the BU network through use of the Cisco AnyConnect VPN. Please visit the BU Techweb VPN page at http://www.bu.edu/tech/support/remote/vpn/use/ for information about using the BU VPN.
You must have a valid BU login name and a Kerberos password as defined on the Account and Access page to access the VPN.
