BU Law is one of a group of select institutions to be invited to participate each year in special recruitment programs, open exclusively to LLM students. Additionally, employers often visit BU Law and hold information sessions for LLM students. Each year, LLM students are invited to participate in:
International Student Interview Program (ISIP)
BU Law is one of a select group of US law schools to participate in ISIP, which takes place in New York City every January. This LLM-only program is designed for foreign-trained attorneys who are enrolled in a full-time program at one of the participating schools. ISIP hosts employers who have open positions, both short-term and permanent, around the world. We are committed to our students’ success at ISIP and hold mock interview and resume workshops in advance of this recruitment fair to help them prepare.
Boston Pro Bono Recruitment Fair & Open House
At this annual job fair hosted by the Boston Bar Association (BBA), BU LLMs are able to meet representatives from local legal services organizations and to learn more about pro bono opportunities. This event is a useful way to identify potential opportunities to gain US legal experience.
American Universities’ China Association (AUCA) Career Fair
As a BU LLM, your opportunities to network and meet with employers don’t end at commencement. As a member of the AUCA, Boston University helps organize multiple annual career fairs throughout the year in China that connect recent LLM graduates with over 160 global employers in a range of industries, including financial services, consulting, e-commerce, technology and manufacturing.
Tax Attorney Recruiting Event (TARE)
Students in our Graduate Tax Program are invited to participate in this elite tax LLM recruiting program, held in Washington, DC, each March. This interview program is limited to students in the graduate tax programs at BU Law, Northwestern University School of Law, and University of Florida Levin College of Law. TARE primarily features opportunities for tax attorneys to interview with large accounting firms for positions across the US and abroad.
