Retired Massachusetts Superior Court Judge August C. Taveira '40 received the St. Thomas More Award last fall at the annual Red Mass celebration in the Fall River, Mass. Diocese. (6/99)

Warren Gilford '43 passed away on December 1, 2001. He was a graduate of the Boston University Business School and attended their Master's Program. In 1940 he graduated from Boston University School of Law. Mr. Gilford practiced in Boston for over 50 years after which he joined his wife Rose Gilford at Chestnut Hill Travel. Mr. Gilford was associated with the late Honorable Justice A. Rose until Judge Rose was appointed to the Superior Court. Mr. Gilford was truly dedicated to his clients, enjoying their personal confidence and often gave of his time and services freely. He and his wife, who graduated from the School of Law in 1943, continued to support and maintain their interests in many charities and the School of Law. (1/02)

Louis Meconi '43 received the Clinton County Bar Association's first Lifetime Achievement Award in May 1999. He was honored by his peers for his 53 years as a New York lawyer. In 1982, Meconi partnered with his son, William to open the firm of Meconi and Meconi. He now consults for the firm. (3/00)

George W. Perkins '49 a partner at Perkins, Townsend, Shay & Talbot PA, in Skowhegan, died on January 10, 2002. He was born in 1922 and was admitted to the Maine bar in 1949 following his graduation from Bowdoin College and Boston University Law School. (4/02)
