Make a Gift: 3L Class Gift

Alumni giving is an integral part of any educational institution. In 2005, the 3L class launched the Class Gift Program to promote awareness of the importance of alumni giving and to leave a lasting legacy at the school. Each year the 3L class comes together, led by the Class Gift Committee, to promote and develop their class gift. The committee makes a gift commitment and promotes the class gift program among their peers.

Class of 2011

The class of 2011 gift will be put towards student financial aid as part of the Law Annual Fund. Money from the 3L class gift will be combined with money from alumni to strengthen the Law School.  The Annual Fund is used to support academic programming, maintain the facilities, and support other programming such as job placement. This year, Dean O'Rourke used $200,000 from the Annual Fund to support financial aid, and will do so again next year.

Class participation is the most important element of the class gift. Our goal for this year is to reach 100% participation. In honor of the Class of 2011, we ask that you make a gift of $20.11, $200.11 or even $2,011. Of course a gift of any amount will make a significant difference for a BU Law student.

For a gift of at least $20.11, you can honor a professor, an administrator, your parents, or anyone else who has had an impact on your legal education. Certificates of appreciation will be available for you to deliver to your honoree and their name will be listed in the Commencement Brochure.

The class gift is our opportunity, as we become alumni, to participate in a long legacy of alumni support at BU Law and to do our part to build the value of a Boston University Law degree.  Your donations keep the programs and reputation of BU Law strong.

Regardless of how you donate (online, by form, over the phone) all gifts and pledges to BU Law received from members of the 3L class by June 30 will count towards the 2011 Class Gift. Final 3L Class Gift totals will be posted after June 30.
