Dear Students, Colleagues, and Friends,

I am pleased to welcome you to the BU Law Graduate Tax Program website. I would like to provide you with information about our program as we continue our expansion from a dedicated residential program to a combined residential/online program.

In September 2015, the Graduate Tax Program (GTP) welcomed one of our largest classes in program history. (Even though all GTP students are allowed to flow seamlessly between residential and online offerings, it is sometimes easier to break the class into a residential and an online cohort.)

Our 45 new and continuing on-campus students enrolled this fall come from across the US and six different countries. In addition, we welcomed 23 new students to our online option, growing the size of our online cohort to 118. In total, 163 students are enrolled in the Graduate Tax Program—signaling that the value of the BU Law LLM in Taxation remains as strong as ever.

The broad and diverse interests our students bring to the program drives our expansive curriculum. We offer 26 courses where online students are technologically integrated into live residential BU courses, 14 stand-alone online courses, and 12 additional residential courses. This curriculum allows both residential and remote students to concentrate their study of tax law, if they wish, in specific practice areas. Tax scholars from the full-time faculty provide instruction alongside distinguished tax practitioners from law firms, tax consulting firms, the Department of Justice, and the Internal Revenue Service.

We encourage you to learn more about the GTP, our school, and our city through this site. And we certainly hope that you will contact us if you would like to receive a copy of our bulletin, if you have any further questions, or if you would like to stop by the School for a visit.

Best regards,

John N. Riccardi
Assistant Dean for Graduate and International Programs
