Dear Students, Colleagues, and Friends:
I am pleased to welcome you to the BU Law Graduate Tax Program (GTP) website. Through our site, you can learn more about our various enrollment options, courses, expert faculty, and social and career events. You can also find out about our newest offering, a six course Estate Planning Certificate, available online and/or in residence. Also, be sure to check out our recent newsletter for the very latest updates on our Program. We encourage employers visiting our site to learn more about hiring our graduates through the annual Tax Attorney Recruiting Event.
One of the key features of our program is our small class size, allowing students the opportunity to easily distinguish themselves and build strong professional relationships with their professors and fellow classmates. In September 2017, the GTP welcomed 46 new students to our program. Our 43 new and continuing on-campus students come from across the US and 13 different countries. In addition, our online program continues to grow and thrive with 76 full and part-time students enrolled as of September 2017. In total, around 130 students are enrolled in the Graduate Tax Program—signaling that the value of the BU Law LLM in Taxation remains as strong as ever.
The broad and diverse interests our students bring to the program drive our expansive curriculum. Our 40+ courses are available to all students, whether pursuing their LLM degree online, in residence, or through a combination of both formats. Residential and online students have the option to focus their study of tax law in specific practice areas, including business tax, financial services, international tax and estate planning.
Tax scholars from the full-time faculty provide instruction alongside distinguished tax and estate planning practitioners from law firms, tax consulting firms, state revenue departments, trust companies, the U.S. Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service.
We encourage you to learn more about the GTP, our school, and our city through this site. We certainly hope that you will contact us if you have any further questions, or if you would like to stop by the School for a visit.
