Reflections on Citizenship: A Celebration of Constitution Day
- Starts: 4:30 pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2020
- Ends: 5:45 pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2020
Join the BU Law community for a celebration of Constitution Day and Citizenship Day, celebrated each September to honor the signing of the U.S. Constitution! This will be a coming together of alumni, faculty, staff and students to recognize Boston University’s engagement with immigration work as volunteers, clinicians, artists and individuals. Hear from speakers representing Project Citizenship and the culmination of Citizenship Month; the BUSL Immigrants' Rights & Human Trafficking Program; and the BU Arts Initiative’s semester-long Hostile Terrain 94 participatory art exhibition. This event will celebrate the incredible work of the BU community and provide reflections on U.S. citizenship. The event will conclude with time for reflections and discussion among attendees, after what we think will be a very moving and thought-provoking event. Given the heavy topic of immigration, we would like to encourage attendees to use their discretion and know that some discussions will include potentially triggering references to migration enforcement and abuse towards asylees and migrants. If you have any questions about the event’s content, please reach out to email@example.com. RSVP here: https://forms.gle/p5bUWusAGFhyBDgaA. Virtual meeting link will be emailed to registered attendees 24 hours in advance.
