Ivy League Rumba

There will be a new PBS documentary, “Ivy League Rumba,” about the Latin Jazz and Pop Festival held at Brown last Fall. The film will be airing next month on PBS stations across the country, including on WGBH in Boston. Among other things, the film traces the under-appreciated influence of Afro-Cuban rhythms on mainstream American culture and music. Run time is 56 minutes.

The film also has lots of footage of Brown, Watson and Providence which will be enjoyable for everyone!
