The
rich and diverse program of the Elie Wiesel Center for Judaic
Studies is made possible, in large part, by the financial
support of friends of the Center. This support includes
endowment funds for named lectureships, conferences, publication
projects, and the purchase of books for the University’s
Mugar Library. In addition, major endowments have been received
for new academic chairs in Judaic studies and for the refurbishments
of 147 Bay State Road – the former offices of President
Emeritus John Silber – as the new home of the Wiesel
Center. And last, and very important, endowment funds have
been created to assist undergraduate students and to support
fellowships for graduate students.
The
Center is anxious to expand its activities and would be
delighted to discuss opportunities for providing named gifts
and endowments, and other forms of support, with potential
donors. Interested individuals should contact the Director
of the Center, Prof. Steven T. Katz. Contact can be made
by either email or phone
(617-353-8089).
