At the left you see what's going on right now in the Multimedia Development Lab at the College of Communication at Boston University. This live webcast is encoded with Sorenson Broadcaster, and served up from an OSX server running QuickTime Streaming software. The Sorenson software, running on a Macintosh G4 computer, compresses and packetizes the video and audio content. From here the stream is unicast to the QTSS server through the COM intranet. The QTSS server manages the distibution of the stream to you and others over the internet.
