Welcome.
This week we develop an overview of mass communication today, and introduce the nature and requirements of this course. Your work this week consists of the following:
- Review the course description and requirements from the syllabus.
- Read the assigned chapters in the three texts.
- Work through the interactive lessons on this week's topic, answering questions and adding to the class discussion as you go along.
- Watch the video archive of the lecture.
- Complete the assignment, which is an analysis of the impact of mass communication on a typical day in your life. You post your results to an online form, and submit it before Wednesday's discussion.
- Participate in the online discussion group on Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM.
- Talk with me. Let me know your ideas on the concepts you confront in this week's work.
