Figure 7. Poor use of contour lines. These three maps are all
characterized by elevation contours that compete with the primary
data, and for all practical purposes overwhelm it. Even if the
topographical features are the primary data, the information would be
easier on the eye and brain if the lines were lighter and not so
overpowering.
