The Cultural Property Implementation Act: Gearing Up for the Next Round
Journal of Field Archaeology 8 (1981) 229--230

While Washington has been rearranging itself for a new Congress and administration, the supporters---and no doubt the detractors---of the Cultural Property Implementation Act have been doing the same. As of mid-February, the legislation has not been reintroduced into the new Congress, thus is has no official bill number at this time. Plans are underway to submit the legislation, probably in much the same form in which it emerged from discussions and redrafting in Spring 1980. Several important and useful meetings have helped to solidify support and provide encouragement for the coming round of debate on the legislation.
