The Disposal of Wastes in Ancient Beer-Sheba

Chemical analysis is used to study the composition of the fill of earth pits from the Persian Period (5th and 4th centuries B.C.). It is concluded that they originally contained organic town refuse. The pits were probably used of making compost.
