Soil Phosphate, Site Boundaries, and Change Point Analysis
Journal of Field Archaeology 15 (1988) 67--83

This reports on a pilot study to test the applicability of phosphate analysis as an ancillary in site survey. The data come from the Laconia Survey, Greece. Results show a clear distinction between "on site" and "background" phosphate concentrations. The statistical technique of change point analysis is used to define site boundaries more clearly and to distinguish between various levels of phosphate concentration.
