I and my colleagues---T. Patrick Culbert, Laura J. Levi, and Peter D. Harrison---continue to disagree with Pope and Dahlin's assessment of the agricultural use of the seasonal wetlands in the Maya Lowlands. The opinions expressed in our original reply (Adams et al. 1990) have not altered and need no further elaboration. We simply wish to emphasize that these disagreements will be resolved only through systematic survey and excavation in the wetlands in question.
