The Elie Wiesel Center offers courses in five main areas:
• Religion and History
• Jewish Thought and Literature
• Hebrew and Israel Studies
• Holocaust Studies
• Gender and Jewish Identity
Within these areas, students can explore Jewish studies through the lenses of film studies, anthropology, archaeology, philosophy, communications, law, and medicine. Recent course topics include the Bible, Jewish mysticism, radical movements and heretics, and Jewish-Christian relations.
Unless otherwise noted, courses do not have any prerequisites and are open to all BU students. Many courses count toward general education requirements and toward major/minor concentrations in History, Middle East/North Africa Studies (MENA), MLCL, Philosophy, Religion, or Romance Studies.
