How did the Vatican react to the Holocaust during WWII? What was the response of the Vatican to the rise of Adolf Hitler and racist policies? This new documentary takes a close look at what Pope Pius XII knew, as well as reactions of others at the Vatican, and his relationship with his predecessor Pius XI. Holy Silence includes interviews with American officials from priests to presidents, as well as documentary evidence that reveals this dark period of history, and the behind the scenes actions that were taken to try to help its victims. 4-4:20 PM: Introductions by Meron Reuben, Israeli Consul General Ambassador, Federica Sereni, Consul General of Italy and Prof. Nancy Harrowitz. 4:30-5:20: Film will be shown. 5:20- 6 PM: Panel discussion with Father Charles Gallagher of Boston College (who appears in the film), and Rob Leikind, Director, AJC New England
