Boston University Collection of Non-fiction Videos

Boston University owns a large collection of non-fiction videos. These are held at the Krasker Library at 565 Commonwealth Avenue. They can be viewed there or rented out. View as many as you can. Assignments, class work and grading are based on the assumption that you will be responsible for your own out of class viewing of documentaries to deepen your critical understanding of the documentary form.

Well represented are classics of the silent era, of Robert Flaherty's career, of the British documentary movement led by John Grierson in the 1930s, and of films made in the same period in the United States and Nazi Germany.
