helping a company prepare for new geographic or international expansion
Students can apply to participate in Enable with the Student Sign-up Form.
For companies, the benefits of BU Enable include:
access to talented and internationally diverse students with a broad range of career and course experiences
gaining new perspectives and approaches to innovation, entrepreneurship, and management
having a specific project completed as well as a follow-up report on recommendations
a source of potential hires for both summer internships and jobs after graduation
I would love to have a student work with me at our company. How can I get a student intern?
To participate in the BU Enable program, you should first fill out the Request for Internship Form. Once the application is accepted as a good fit for the program, the students will review the available opportunities and if interested in your company, they will contact you for an interview. Once you have selected a student, you and the BU Enable program office will prepare a formal project plan to be signed by you and the student. This project plan will form the basis of the practicum.
How are students assigned to companies?
Students select companies and projects that are of interest to them, contact the companies and arrange interviews. Based on those interviews, the companies select the student. We expect companies to interview no more than three prospective students per project.
What can I expect from the students?
Students are expected to work for you for up to 10 hours a week either virtually or at your offices. We also expect them to add significant and measurable value to your company through their projects. They receive academic credit for their work, and we expect quality, professional results.
What are the expectations from me as a company?
These should be projects should be (1) entrepreneurially oriented; (2) can be completed over a three month semester; and (3) substantial enough to merit academic credit.
Do I need to pay the students?
No. The students receive academic credits for completing the project and submitting a project report. We do suggest that you make a voluntary $5,000 contribution to the BU Enable program.
