How the Competition Works
The goal of the Concept Competition is to help students learn about the process of formulating and refining a business idea, and presenting it to a group of resource providers.

  • All students must submit the following to ITEC by October 16, 2009:
    • 1-2 page Executive Summary
    • One paragraph explanation outlining why you believe your team is qualified to launch this business
    • Attached resumes of all team members
  • Teams will be judged for the competition based upon the following criteria:
    • Potential for the concept
    • Evidence of sound strategic thinking
    • Quality of written and oral presentation
  • Students are invited to present a five minute overview of their business idea/concept to a panel of judges.
  • Competition winners will be eligible to receive up to $1,000 for the reimbursement of expenses directly related to the development of their business presented in the Concept Competition.
  • Once a team wins the competition they will have a faculty advisor assigned. They will then develop a set of milestones and deadlines for the completion of their business plan, gaining support from the faculty advisor.
