Terrier Trap: $1K Business Concept Competition

The goal of the Concept Competition is to help students learn about the process of formulating and refining a business idea, and presenting it to a group of resource experts from the university and local business community.
Competition is open to current undergraduate and graduate students only. One application per person/team.
Teams will be judged for the competition based upon the following criteria:
- Potential for the concept
- Evidence of sound strategic thinking
- Quality of written and oral presentation
Once applications are received, students are invited to present a five-minute overview of their business idea/concept to a panel of judges.
Competition winners will be eligible to receive up to $1,000 for the reimbursement of expenses directly related to the development of their business presented in the Concept Competition.
Once a team wins the competition they will have a faculty advisor assigned. They will then develop a set of milestones and deadlines for the completion of their business plan, gaining support from the faculty advisor.
