Online Information ServicesThe Link
A variety of administrative information
is organized and available online through a group of Web applications
collectively known as The Link. The Link is designed and supported by
University Information Systems (UIS). Much of The Link is interactive,
allowing information to be updated directly or through submission of
online applications.
- The Faculty Link provides faculty members access to class schedules, class lists, and final exam schedules, as well as academic and contact information regarding students in their current classes. In addition, faculty can post final grades for their courses. Grant budgets can also be monitored through this Link.
- The Employee Link allows faculty and staff to view and, where appropriate, update information related to their employment, including personal and family information, benefit levels, and pay stubs. Employees can also apply for parking and T passes here and request changes to benefits during Open Enrollment periods.
- The Business Link provides academic and administrative staff access to business information, including payroll and personnel information, financial forms, and purchasing services. Administrative access to grant budgets and financial status reports is also available.
- The Faculty/Staff Link provides academic and administrative personnel access to official information about Boston University students. In addition to the facilities in the Faculty Link, the Faculty/Staff link provides powerful selection tools for listing students by college, class, or hegis.
- The Student Link offers students Web-based class registration and access to their own personal, academic, and financial information. Students can also view employment opportunities, buy Convenience Points, and search for off-campus housing.
The Link is available at www.bu.edu/computing/web/links.html. A BU login name and Kerberos password are required to access most Link services. The Faculty/Staff Link and the Business Link require additional authorization, including use of a SecurID card. These small electronic devices are issued to faculty by their academic departments, as needed. To obtain a SecurID, contact your Departmental Security Administrator or call UIS Information Security at 617-353-9004. For more information or technical support, contact the Link Support Line at 617-353-5465 (353-LINK), or send e-mail to thelink@bu.edu.
