Maintaining J-1 Status

In order to remain lawfully in the United States during your studies in J-1 status, you must obey the regulations that govern J-1 students. The following links will provide you with guidance for maintaining lawful J-1 status. Although the ISSO endeavors to provide the most up-to-date information, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) considers it the responsibility of the J-1 student to be sure they do not violate the terms of their status.
