in F-1 immigration status to complete Semester Verification.
DHS Significantly Increases Application Fees The
Department of Homeland Security has announced a significant fee
increase for OPT, change of status and all other application types

ISSO will offer two more workshops this spring and early summer
focusing on the F-1 OPT application process. Click on the

New regulations and SEVIS upgrade affect J-1 Research Scholars and Professors A technical upgrade to the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) now permits the ISSO to extend the immigration documents for scholars in J-1 Professor and Research Scholar category for up to five years. This update to SEVIS was required in order to implement recent changes to J-1 regulations, including stricter restrictions on the consecutive use of J-1 Professor and Research Scholar categories. perspectives on interviewing is the theme of the first workshop.
A panel of alums and recruiters will talk in the second workshop

process. Click on the link above for full details. New Passport Requirement for citizens of Canada, Mexico and Bermuda Beginning
January 23, 2007, citizens of these countries (as well as citizens
of the U.S.) will be required to present a passport or other acceptable
travel document when entering or re-entering the U.S. by air from

ISSO will close for the Boston University Intersession break at
5:00 pm on Friday, December 22, 2006 and re-open at 9:00 am on
Tuesday, January 2, 2007. International students and scholars
with urgent matters may leave a voice message on the ISSO main
phone line (617-353-3565).
Messages will be checked daily. An ISSO staff member will
evaluate whether the matter needs immediate attention of if it
